i & l via OCR

hi

anyone can tell me how do make Subrip recognize the differnce between an "I" (aka "i") and an "l" (aka "L") ???

quite many .subs seem to use some kind of letters that make those two look realy similar

Use its ocr correction feature after ocring it.

generaly the correction beetween I and l are made after the ocr the simple way is to check if the letter before or after the letter "I" is in lowercase this mean it's not an "I" but an "l", but there is surely some other algo more clever to detect them.

Yes, and it's all hard-coded, depending on language.
SubtitleWorkshop's approach is nicer, but no support is planned for scripts in SubRip, as far as I know.

ocr-correction dosen´t work realy perfect, but hey, still better than nothing...

it ain´t that hard to tell if it´s an i or an l... but just a lot of work i thought i could get around by some nice trick...

use the error correction in subtitle workshop then, it's 99.9% accurate for I and L. it's the one I use anyway
