Creating own subtitles; looking for program recommendation

Hey, I'm adding my own subtitles into a recorded TV show that doesn't have any. I was wondering if there's a program in particular that's suited for this? Something that could let me have an active preview would be really nice so I could do a better job rather than just trial and error of guessing times for the lines.

Anybody know of any good software for this?

You can't subtitle it on base of a waveform, what is the fasted way. The Subtitle preview is only good for checking not for create or adjust the timing.
Also there a to much operation, you need often, is only per mouse ausable.
It has also no Unicode or asia characterset support.

Medusa has a waveform, video and a combined mod(waveform and Video).

I generally use SSA or Sabbu or Medusa + Subtitle Workshop to create, edit + correct viewing (on the screen) my subtitles.

For precision timing, SSA, Sabbu or Medusa are better. To create another subtitles extensions or editing them AFTER timing, SWS do the work very well.

I work with all of them.

Sabbu has a very nice future too. Let's see which another features his developer ( thanks !! ) will create for it. :)

PS: anyone know WHERE is Kotus, the SSA's developer ? He was a great programmer and I will be very interested if he wrote another great program for subtitling like SSA in nowadays.

Kotus has workt on Medusa, wich came from the it. Doom9 Forum.

Kotus coded SSA and Kaiousama coded Medusa, I think. :)

Well, I think the Medusa's latest version is not stable. I prefer the old one. :)

Sabbu is my great hope for subtitling scene. Maybe in the future we have more and more new interesting features to work.

I will test visualsubsync too. It seems be very nice too.

Edited: sorry, I was no clear im my question --> I wanna know about the Kotus himself, any program created 100 % by him and not only his help / idea offered and used by Kaiousama to create Medusa and credited in about's Medusa program. :)

BTW, I think that Kotus stop code any kind os timing program. If you know any news about his programs, post it here, please.
