Often on my backups, when I play them, they play with english close captions, I guess that's what it is. Anyway, it follows the dialogue, but I don't want it there. Some players show it, some don't. I've ripped & burned different ways; Decryptor/Shrink, DVD Fab, etc. Can I eliminate it on these existing discs, and what do I do on future ones to prevent it??

It sounds like you aren't seeing real Closed Captions, but are maybe experiencing hard-coded subtitles. Closed Captions ("CC") have to be TURNED ON in the TV, or in an accompanying decoder (all newer NTSC TVs have a built in decoder - as far as I know, no PAL TVs have the decoder).

Where are these CCs playing? TV or Computer?
