P.S. If you checked for the Vnn.D2V file, wouldn't that work as well (as far as determining if the VOB needs to be copied), and avoid this problem? That would cause another -- because 100% ILVU VTSs that need to be copied would still have a D2V (you don't know it's 100% ILVU until it is completed).

Just as a clarification. What operating system and service pack is everyone using who is getting this? XP? It's frustrating me that I can't repeat this... also, is it on a hard drive, network drive, or a mounted ISO?
XP Pro SP2 from HD here.

No need to go any farther. Now that I had the LAMSTER information to work with ---- sure as hell. I ran through using the directory scan routine and if the second and third characters of the short filename matched my lookup string they were returned.
I've been all over this world and parts of Arkansas, and I've never seen anything like that before. That is goofier than I can even say.... you gotta love Microsoft.

i guess you already know, how to fix this (and given your excellent track record, i guess you already have fixed it).
but just a proposal for solution: delete the D2V, if the VTS is 100% ILVU. then you can use the remaining D2V files to figure out, which VOB files you should copy...

Try Forum Jump (at the bottom of the window) / Programming and Hacking.
This assumes you're already a programmer. If not, start with a course on programming...

So version 0.84.1 was just sent out. Anyone tried it to make sure it fixed this?

Fortunately, I still have a D2VAVS directory that shows this problem, so I can confirm that 0.84.1 fixes this problem.

Just one request jdobbs -- could you tell us how you fixed it? I'm curious, did you have to revamp the directory scanning routine, or use some different method to determine what to copy?
I am also using XP Pro SP2.
And unfortunately I can't test 0.84.1 yet because the download link is busted or overloaded, but I'm sure it works! Thanks.

Actually I'd already written an alternative directory retrieval routine that was necessary when they started doing structure protection on some discs (there are some kinds of directory requests that would cause an error on some discs). Normally I only used it when accessing the source (DVD) directory. I just switched to it for this.

As for the download -- it should be fixed now. Damned IIS... whenever it gets a little bit of a load it hangs and the only way I can get it working again is to stop the service and restart it.
I was going to load Apache 2.0 today and toss IIS out the window, but I decided it was more important to get this fix out. So I'll have to wait until the demand dies down before I can do it, probably the middle of the night tonight.

Yeah, surprised you weren't using Apache already. But I managed to get through -- haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it's great. And my undersize issue with Whale Rider is probably fixed too (in 0.84); can't wait to try it out.
But if you've ever tried to replace a disk in a RAID0 array, you know how much of a PITA it is. You have to back everything up, break the array, swap disks, recreate the array, re-image and restore everything back to the array, once you've reformatted with proper cluster sizes. Bleh.
And all that because one of my drives was making a slightly strange noise under HEAVY I/O load when rebuilding DVD's and exporting VOBs from DRM Pro. Like maybe 10 seconds out of a 15 minute export. :)

If you don't get it the first day -- send an e-mail to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com. Now that we're living in the era of SPAM filters, I don't always get a failure notice when it doesn't make it to the intended receiver...
I just resent it.

Thanks again.
