@jdobbs
I will try the full DVD when I get home. I do remember it giving me a full DVD (at 7.6 GB) encode of 3.9 GB with the old set-up (SP 2.7 Trial and RB 0.78).

System is a P4 2.8. I don't have CCE 2.5 available. If I had a copy, I would give it a test.

Managed to fix my problem
It wasn't rb's fault, sorry for doubting your excellence Jdobbs :) Some how either avisynth or cce sp had become corrupt in some way. I unistalled both apps, deleted the directories as some files still remained, and reinstalled them.
Now working 100% again. The MORAL of the story is to check all the factors before blaming one. :stupid:

That's hip, groovy, cool, far out, and generally good news! :)

The encode of the entire DVD came out to 4.37 GB. Apparently, on this particular DVD, the Movie and Menus option runs into difficulty.
I'm going to try one of the other full DVD encodes that fell short size-wise to see if it does again, of if the upgrade to Pro and Basic gets around that problem.
Take care...

That's important. It could be I am miscalculating the Movie/Menu option in some way.

Yes, I think something a bit odd is going on with the Movie and Menus Only Mode.
I just got The Woodsman (new Kevin Bacon movie). The full DVD is 6.99 GB (movie VOB's comprise 5.55 GB). I attempted a 2 pass Movie and Menus Only encode and came up with a 4.10 GB result. I then tried an OPV Movie and Menus Only encode (which I expected to be a bit off but wanted to test anyway) and obtained a 3.53 GB result. On the other hand, an encode of the full DVD worked out to a spot on 4.36 GB result.
I'll do a bit more testing and get back.
Take care...

Same backup with Movie and Menus Only Mode.
One pass VBR with analysis 3.29GB
Two pass VBR 4.30GB

I need to correct the OPV code for Movies and Menus... it isn't accounting for the saved space right now.
