How to add subtitle to AVI file permanently so I don't need Vobsub to see the subtitle?
Anybody can help? Thanks.

Install VobSub's plugins for VirtualDub. Then open VirtualDub and go to video->filter->add then choose your subtitle file.

Is VirtualDub the same as VirtualDubMod? If so, are the plug-ins already installed for VirtualDubMod on the Gordian Knot pack downloaded from doom9? If not, can you provide a link to the plug-ins? Much appreciated. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

VirtualDub isn't the same as VirtualDubMod, but the differences are minimum, and plugins work for both.
As you obviously use Gknot, there is a much easier way to burn in subtitles, which is to use the subtitle tab in the avs encoding window of GK (where you select denoisers and deinterlacing). GK 0.35.5 moreover lets you select text subtitles now as well as vobsubs. The method uses the avisynth equivalent of the vdub plugin filter. If you really want to do it the hard way through vdub, I'll tell you how :)

ohhh... don't worry about that. I think I'll stick with the easier way. Will try GK method and report back. Maybe won't be until tommorow night though. Thanks a bunch.
