It the VobSub just create 2 new files only??

I'm using the VobSub to rip the subtitle from the .ifo file.
but it just create 2 new files only( *.sub and *.idx)...It is correct or not...? Because i study the VobSub Guide, it had mention will be create 3 new files, that is *.ifo, *.sub and *.idx.

what the different between *.sub and *.idx???

Yeah vobsub creates an idx and sub only.

The sub holds the subtitles and the idx contains the timecodes and links to the appropriate subtitle in the sub file.

Open the idx in notepad and have a gander.

One more question!!
Can the *.sub and *.idx creater a multi-subtitle??
or it just support one subtitle only.
Because i had try it in avi, it just can display ONE subtitle only.Cannot select other subtitle or turn off to display the subtitle.
OOps!! i use the Windows Media Player 10 to play it

DVD supports 32 subtitle streams, and so does the vobsub format.

I don't use WMP 10 but if you look in the properties you should see that "directvobsub" is loaded. You can fiddle around with the options in that, including which stream is selected and when subs are loaded, etc.

Another thing, if space is an issue (it is on CD), you can compress the .sub using winrar and it will still play correctly. i.e. turn movie.idx/movie.sub into movie.idx/movie.rar

right-click on the green arrow in the tray, that's where you fiddle the subtitles, from vobsub itself, not WMP 10

Because it just can show in PC only. Not the dvd player.
Can the subtitle show in player( not computer) with multi-selector subtitle???
