Yeah reading that page is where the confusion started! It suggests YUV and YPbPr are the same thing in this sort of application, or the YUV option could be YCbCr incorrectly named. The manual doesn't say anything useful about this - I don't think it even says anything about progressive scan at all!
Can 3x RCA "component" cables be used for YPbPr and YCbCr, or just YPbPr? WP doesn't really explain that very well at all.

the cables can handle either of them
if you really want to know if its digital or analoge go get yourself an osiliscope, and attach it to the leads, or phone up the manufacture mayhaps?

Every player out there will at least need a firmware update to play xsub.
It was really weird, but I didn't have to update a KiSS firmware to be able to play XSUB... in 2005! When XSUB format was just released!
