CC extracted with VSrip VobSub is scrambled

I like to convert Closed Captions to subtitles, but when I use VSrip of VobSub to extract the CC data, and open the SRT file, 90% of the time the text is broken up like this:

How can I extract the captions without this? I'm tired of proof reading and editing the text. Occasionally I'll get an almost perfect extraction, like some anchor bay titles, but this is annoying.

Is there any way to convert the raw file into a VobSub srt file, preferably preserving italics.

Do you have the .cc.raw file created by VSRip? If so, it's possible that my closed caption tools can convert that to legible subtitles (assuming they don't have the same problem). Download http://www.geocities.com/mcpoodle43/SCC_TOOLS/SCC_TOOLS.ZIP and extract vobsub2scc.exe and ccasdi.exe into the same directory as the .cc.raw file. Open a command prompt, and run this command: VOBSUB2SCC VTS_01_0.CC.RAW (assuming that this is what the file is called). The output will be a file called VTS_01_0.SCC. Type the following from the command prompt to convert this to SubRip format (with the name VTS_01_0.SRT): CCASDI -S VTS_01_0.SCC.

I've got a feeling, though, that you'll end up with the same problems as before. E-mail me the .cc.raw file if that's the case, and I'll see what I can do.

That procedure worked well, after I realized that the -S is case sensitive -s. The resulting SRT file is not jumbled. The only problem I had was that one of the resulting files in my testing was off with the timing.
