syncing subs to a DVDR

Hi, I was wondering, how can I sync subs to a DVDR.

I'm know how to add subs to a DVDR, but I cant figure out how to sync subs in srt format that are synced to a 2 cd XviD DVDRip rls of the movie to a DVDR?

Everytime I read this kind of question, I do remember a short story.
Hans is very fat and he hardly moves from the bed to the chair and back again. Sometimes he has to visit the restroom and, by God, it takes the breath out of him:D
His wife is normal, in shape and weight. She manages everything in the house.

Hans looks at the coffee cup for a couple of minutes. He loves coffee
but to drink it would empty the last of his few energies for the day.
The wife sees it and asks kindly:

Well, aLx8, it would be more simple for me to do the work for you.
Nevertheless, we are talking about a dvd release you bought, assuming this release is a NTSC and the text you want to add is a traduction of, let's say, the english spoken language of the movie.

plz, can anybody help me? I want to sync subs to a DVDR but without demuxing just syncing it and I dont have any subpacks on my DVDR.

Hi. First of all, there is no way to insert subtitles into a DVD without demuxing. (or at least, I don't know another way!) In the VOB (container) files, you have a m2v file, that's belong to the video (MPEG2), there is also an ac3 file (can be also another format... ac3 is standard) that belong to the audio, then, if there are some subtitles, there should be some sup files... but you said that there are no subs in the DVD, so, that VOBs are not going to have any sup file inside.
If you want to create you own subtitle, without any other reference of a previous one, I tell you: Is going to be a very hard work.
You will need a program like "Subtitle Work Shop", unfortunatelly, this program is not able to open the VOB files like a DVD player, it will open them, but one by one... in that case, your subtitle timing is going to start from 00:00 every time you open a new VOB file, and this is not what you need.
My advice, if you really want to do that, is: Create a back up of your DVD in avi format, using AutoGK, for instance... then use that avi file as your DVD, and open it with Subtitle Work Shop... and there is where the hard work start.
(It could be another way, using Avisynth frameservig, if you are not too familiar with that kind of procedure, I would suggest to do as I told you before... anyway, I am not sure if Subtitle Work Shop can handle avs files.)
If you are able to do that job, without getting mad... the rest is just very easy!

I dont have any subpacks on my DVDR.
EVEN HARDERE THEN, because you have to listen to the movie and stop it at the right time when actors say something, then use a tool thet will give you the correct time, rewind 500 millisec(only time stamp) and listen to the next line in order to decide when subs won't be shown anymore. And if you are not skilled at the language you must translate it's even hardere.
Try, istead, to find appropiate subs, and, looking at(for instance)PowerDVD and STW at the same time, see if they(the subs) fit. If they don't, adjust from within STW.
No matter which solution, it is NOT for newbies:rolleyes:

As You say, it will never work. I tried this proggy for some weeks ago.
I could see the vobs on my PC (after working with inherent ifo) but I never succeeded to make my stand alone to show the dvd.
I don't mix win and nux, I have to separate machine to handle the OSs
