Question to difficult or to easy - nobody here really knows?

Hi

I have posted this several weeks ago, oddly nobody had a comment so far:

Making DivX or Xvids:

1. Using AutoGK; how to position burned-in subtitles vertically so that text appears in the black bar under the movie ?

2. Using AutoGK; How to set the color and font size in burned-in subtitles?

3. If this cannot be obtained in AutoGK, is it possible in Gordian knot or any other tool ?

4. If i want to make an external subtitle in *.sub or *.srt, to go along with a video rip via AutoGK with no subtitle, how can i make a subtitle which is positioned in the black bar under the movie ?

5. And further how can i change font size and color og such a subtitle?

6. Is AutoGK 1.6 build on Gordian Knot 0.28.8 ?

I believe I answered this before(writing I don't know the proggy).
I don't make divx anymore.
When I did, I used Virtual dub and vobsub (there is a vobsub filter for Virtual dub). Using Vobsub U may place the text anywhere U want.
U may review the whole thing in Virtual Dub before forwarding to any encoder (inside VD)and if U are not satisfied with the position start all over again.
Copy ur dvd movie files to HD with (for instance) DVDdecrypter (chosing movie only) then start Vobsub, rip the subs and decide where the subs should be. Leave Vobsub and start VD after creating d2v file with DVD2avi (for instance). Import now the d2v file and read in the filter for subs. After all ur regular work about pictures (resize and other filters, like Decomb or whatever)U'll be able to see the results scrolling the movie before encoding.
As I already wrote I don't know AutoGK and I'm not gonna try it just to help U out, but I read the guide and it states
Finally we have two subtitle options: Display only forced subtitles will process only the forced subtitles on the original DVDs - i.e. the subtitles you cannot switch off. Forced subtitles are often used for dialogue parts which are not in the same language the movie is on. Use external subtitles will use the VobSub format for subtitles rather than encode the subtitles as part of the video. External subtitles cannot be used on a standalone DivX/XViD capable DVD player. External subtitles will be automatically split at the proper position (assuming you're going for more than 1 CD) so you don't have to worry about splitting anything.
The guide states U may use Vobsub to see the movie on PC. In this case there shouldn't be any probs with Vobsub.
If U are going to burn in the subs, then I suggest U use VD istead
where U easily may decide where the subs should be burnt in.

thanks for your reply. I may then discard AutoGK and revert to doing everything manually. I hoped for some advice using AutoGK though, since the programme is besides the issues i cannot solve, rather userfriendly.

Any other experiances on AutoGK or GK?

I am simply very surprised that no one has any answers or knowledge in relation hereto :confused:
