Subtitles in green blocks!

my subititles are in time with the video but they show as green blocks, this is the first time I've played with subtitles so I hope I'm doing it right, I used Subrip 1.17.1 and opened my ripped vobs and selected "subPictures to text via OCR" and once the whole process is finished I click the "save as" button and save it has a .srt file, I then start srt2sup and select "open as text" and open the newly created srt file(which opens up fine) and then save it as a .sup file, after that I open up IFOedit to create new dvd, drag my m2v, audio, the sup file, and celltimes into the correct places and create. but after burning I get these green blocks for subtitles, what am I doing wrong.

Update on my problem.

I've followed a guide to copy the subtitle colour from the original ifo and paste that into the newly created ifo.

Now I have subtitles but the sub titles are now incased in blue blocks with the writing cut out of the blocks so at least I can read them but still very irritating.

now I'm totally out of ideas, can anyone please help

What do you mean with green or blue "blocks"? it is may be the text with that color, or something else?

Copy 'n' Paste is only good if you rip a .sup file from an existing vob set & then use that .sup for authoring a new set of vobs.

srt2sup offers you to assign "colours" to the newly generated .sup file ... and then shows you the appropriate entries to be typed into ifoedit (show ifoedit colours or sth. like that, I don't have it installed atm).

I would not copy and paste the colors, I would change them manually. It gets better results.

aha, sorted it now, I was going about it totally the wrong way, after reading smiller667 post I ripped out the subs from the original vobs (using vobedit) then used ifoedit I created a new dvd dragged my new mpv, mp2, celltimes and subs in there and created my new video files, then I copied and pasted the subtitles colours from the original ifo(using ifoedit), and burnt - everything works fine now.
