How do VobSub determine what fonts and sizes to use?

Hi!

When I'm using AutoGK, which uses VobSub for subtitles, I have noticed that the subs looks totally different on some movies. How does VobSub determine what font, size and placement it should use when creating the subtitle files?

Is there a way I can make it use the same font and size every time? There is a font setting in DirectVobSub that is set to Arial, and I thought this was the font which was used when displaying the subs during playback. But they still varies a lot :confused:

it rips directly the subtitle bitmaps. as far as i understand, dvd's use bitmap pictures for text and not fonts.

I see.. so the only way to "change" them is by tweaking the size and alignment then?

Unless u do a OCR or get the subs elsewhere, but that's not an option.. I just wondered if there was a simple way :p
