Hi! I just converted an avi to an ntsc dvd. The avi is 23.975fps with ac3 sound, the subtitle is in srt format. I just resized the video and ran through CCE. I demuxed the sound and ran it through besweet. I converted the subtitle using srt2sup (selected ntsc format). And finally I remuxed the whole thing with rejig.

Now the problem is that the DVD works fine with PowerDVD, but when I burn it to a disk and put in the standalone the movie and sound is fine but there is no subtitle displayed. I can select the subtitle, but it doesn't display it... What did I do wrong?

I was reading the forum and noticed something called pulldown which converts the 23.975 fps avi to 29.975 fps. I didn't do this (unless CCE does it automatically) so my question is that could this be the source of my problem? If so what shall I do?

If U only have 1 sub then the reason must be the kind of slices U use or ur stand alone being picky. Try DVDLab pro (U may dl the proggy and it will work for 30 days with no limits)to make a dvd.
Usually, if Maestro is used all stand alone will show the sub/subs.
I had the opportunity to test this very good proggy intensively, but I can't afford buying it. My results with DVDLab Pro are very good and the interface is similar to Maestro but the price will be affordable.
There is also another tools called dvdauthor (freeware) U may test.
Finally U may test ur slice in another stand alone....

Thanks, I'll try those progs.
