Rip subtitles off dvd, one language! Easy way??

First the vobsub utility that comes with Gknot, then vobsub Strip, to get out one paimary language, to make it easier for SubRip 1.17.1 to make my .srt file.. ifo and "BIG" multi language files, don`t work on my xbox,. All my backups i`am playing on my xbox, with Xbox Media Center, latest build...

And with SubRip I have to do all the writing everytime... Doesn`t the characters matrix files work???

This prosess is VERY hard... Is there an easier way??? .sub files work to, but not MULTI LANGUAGE...

You can rip the language of your choice directly in subrip ... rip to HD using the ripper of your choice & open the .ifo file in subrip.

I know, but i still have to enter each character every time, but it takes more time to complete this way, when extracting the subs with Vobsub, and then the one language of your choice, it goes way faster...

I have to admit I can't quite follow you there ...you pick the one language you want in subrip and should only have to enter characters once (ideally). If not,you might want to play around with the colour settings in subrip a bit (?).
Vobsub also offers to do the ocr step for you, btw. - at least the full package does (I don't know what's included in gknow, the vobsub package can be d/l'd from doom9).

Hmm... What does actually "ocr" stands for???

I have some DVD`s, have benn making backups of them, on my "file server", along with all mp3`s and stuff [ 300gb+200gb+ "4 x 120gb= A LOT =) ]

I use Auto GK to make divx backups, and then i have to use some progs for the subtitle.

First Vobsub, that comes along with Gordian Knot, then Vobsub Strip, to strip out the one languge i will need.. Then Sub Rip 1.17.1, to make an .srt file, that my xbmc can handle.. And i thought that SubRip was able to get this prosess going on by itselfes, but for every subtitle that i make, i have to enter each character every time. Like [ H ] for Hello, then [e] [l] [o], you only have to enter each character one time, but you have, "italic", and "two" characters at a time.. And so on.. This ting takes FOREVER, and I`m tired of doing this.. Please tell me there is an Easier way to do this.. Will XBMC ever be able to work out multi language files, ripped off an DVD with 10 languages... And a 60 mb .sub file??? This do NOT work on my xbox, is there anything I`am doing wrong...

It do NOT work, with ".ifo" ".idx" multi OR single language.. Sub files, SINGEL language files work, only those that are similar to .srt files... Anywho, this prosess is long, and I`am tired of doing so...

Anyone that have come up with an clever solution to this..????
