Subs way out of sync

have a pal dvd which i added new subtitles and they are just fine but the subs are out of sync

i did the subs in subtitleworkshop save in 25 fps
where du i miss out ??

with what did you "do" the subs? where do they come from? have you tried resynching them with subtitle workshop preview? you're a bit vague :)

i extracted the original sub from the dvd and used the times from that one to sync the subs but still out of sync

Well, I supose you used SubRip to rip the originals subs, Did you rip them with the original fps?
Look in the settings of SubRip.

here is what i have done

used vobedit to demux
subtitle workshop to sync the subs
srtsup
ifoedit


the movie is 25 fps isnt the same with the subs then ??

Yes! Of course, but I'd suggest to use SubRip. I mean, rip the subtitles in srt format (be carefull, if the film is 25 fps, the srt has to be 25 fps too... you already know that).
Then use SubtitleWorkShop to create your subs.
Then Srt2Sup, IfoEdit (Remux) and so on.

i allready did but the subs are still out of sync

Hm... very strange...:rolleyes: If everything is right, it should be no out of sync, and normally if something like that happen is because the fps resolution in SubRip or even Subtitle Work Shop, check again this parameters very carefully, specially in SubRip, if the out of sync is still there, I am afraid you may need Subtitle Work Shop or VobSub (SubResync) to correct the problem in your subs... and that can take a lot of time.
A quick solution could be changing the fps in/out in Subtitle Work Shop, you may have some good results... something else... I don't know :confused:

which program shows what fps the movie is in

You can look in the main IFO File (With IfoEdit), there is written wich fps the movie has.
With Subtitle Work Shop, you can import subtitles files and at the same time change the fps. You can do the same when you export it. Look at the left side "Imput FPS". Changing this parameters, you can get some results.

does it have any thing to say that in my new subs the number of lines aint the same as in the original subs ??

No, it has nothing to do with that.
Take a look at the fps again as I told you, if not, you should use Subtitle Work Shop (or VobSub Subresync) to correct the sub times. It is a hard work, but may be it is the only way in your case.
