So we're saying there is two versions called v1.0.1.0 of AVISYNTH? I don't know... Or was it the reinstallation? Either way it ended up fixing his problem.

OK then, finally I think I am home free on the stutter scenario... I was using the 1.0.1.0 version of mpeg2dec3.dll. Which I'm told is the stable one. But I thought I would try the version posted in the DVD ReBuilder: Installation, Setup, and Usage sticky. Same version 1.0.1.0 but apparently modified. So I tried it and ran Gladiator through it. Bingo, no stutter on the pain in the ass point I described in my original post. So I'm a happy little vegie tonight. I'll see how I go...
I would also like to get down on my knees and grovel at the feet of jdobbs for even thinking that there may have been a problem with the rebuild stage :)
Cheers to all for there help...
Great news! I will make a try right away on one of my problematic movies. Thanx for the tip.
Actually I thought that there was only one version of mpegdec3.dll
Lets try now, shall we

There have been several versions of mpeg2dec3dg.dll. It used to come with dvd2avidg; of which there have been several versions. The one I successfully use came from the setup thread in a zip file called decodefix110mod.zip. This mpeg2dec3dg is v1.1.0 and has a 24/04/2004 09:03 date/time stamp. Are there any other versions of 1.1.0 mpeg2dec3dg.dll around?
@Redbacks: Can you do a filecompare (fc.exe at the command prompt) to see if the files are different?
Regards,
Bob

I found 3 different ones by using fc.exe
decodefix.zip
mpeg2dec3dg.dll v.1.0.1.0 April 24, 2004, 9:03:24 AM
decodefix100.zip
mpeg2dec3dg.dll v.1.0.1.0 October 02, 2003, 6:55:48 PM
decodefix110mod.zip
mpeg2dec3dg.dll v.1.0.1.0 May 20, 2004, 9:41:12 PM

Use the one in decodefix110mod.zip. That is the only one that is truly version 110. I think the problem is (probably) that the version was 1.0.1.0 on the first compile and hasn't been changed -- so you can't trust what Microsoft Explorer tells you. Make sure you don't forget to get rid of any others (especially in the AVISYNTH plugin directory).
Read the readme.txt file in decodefix110mod.zip and you'll see there were a lot of changes made. But, to be honest, I used the decodefix100.zip version for a long time with no problems.

Same errors here unfortunately... Must be an error when DVDRB is reauthoring.

The new version (v0.60) is available here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?postid=546727#post546727). I think this is an important set of fixes and would recommend upgrade.

The one ive been using that has always worked perfectly without stuttering is:
mpeg2dec3dg.dll V1.0.1.0 Size 254,033 and has a 24/04/2004 09:03am date/time stamp.
it is also the one thats zipped at:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=74308
I would say if youre encountering stuttering, youre using the wrong file. I wander if this relates also to the audio dropout issue?
