Is it possible to convert BMP to srt, so after conversion is done that in srt file will be original text, but not bmp files representing the time code ?

Thanks

yes, load them in subrip: File-->open image sequence. But you can not preserve the timestamp :(

If subrip fails to open them, then you need to convert them to rgb 24bit picture (I think !?) simply by loading them into virtualdub and saving them as picture files. It 100% works.

Aha, the files should have some sequencelike name. For instance: name01.bmp, name02.bmp, name03.bmp or 1name.bmp, 2name.bmp, 3name.bmp ... In this case either virtualdub or subrip open them in the right order.

Hi veverica! Thanks for posting it up. However i knew that, but my point that i want to achieve is from converting graphical to textual subtitle is that after conversion into srt or whatever textual subtitle file that i get original text converted from bmp files. and not in srt file to get name01.bmp, name02.bmp and so on.
So i dont need to use OCR recognition for each character, but do ripping all in one shot and then convert it to textual subtitle and that in output i get pure text with timestamps :)

Thats it

Thank you for help, i really appreciate it.

Excuse my question (probably I just didn't understand your last posting) - but how would you hope to get textual subs from bmp-based subs as encountered on a DVD without using OCR?
No matter if you open a vob or open a sequence of bmps, you will always have to recognize each character once (ideally) using OCR.

Hey smiller!

I know all that. But the thing is : I dont like entering characters for each movie, and if i save matrix on diff movies it wont work.

So i hope theres a way to convert graphical ( to read each bmp file text) and save it as srt or any other textual. So i dont need to do ocr recognizing. and then i can go on with my plan :)

Maybe there is still a way to do it thats why i posted it here.

I need it so i can convert it later to ssa and then do positioning titles.
If u know a better way so i can position titles in maestrosbt without ocr give me a hint. because thats what i want to achieve. thats why i posted this thread just to save some time :)

Thanks!
