Cool, hadn't heard of that till now. Will have to check it out.
Always nice to have a place to host your pics :)

As for that pic above I'm sure you can find much funnier in the DIY community :) I've seen some errr.. Pretty creative stuff!

Personally I have 1 switch on mine for on/off. With a thermostatic switch wired to run my fans for the required time after the main switch is turned off :) Basic but works well. Others have designed circuits with relays to handle power on of lamp/fan, then lcd after lamp warmup and the reverse on power down. Others include heat sensor auto cut offs to protect against fan failure etc etc... You can do as much or as little as you want.

I have young kids and a technologically impaired spouse so it's important that the safety issues are dealt with in the design.

Cheers,
Arkay.

Edit: Next time I have the time I'll take some pics to put up. What in particular would you like to see?

Thanks Arkay,
I stumbled across this thread about a week ago, and it sparked an intrest, since then i've purchased the lumenlab plans, and have been hanging out in thier irc channel, this looks like an awesome little project, that can yeild some great and inexpensive results. I've hit up ebay, and bought a benQ monitor to do the job, and cant weight to get the rest of my parts in. thanks for the insiration!

You're welcome! These are the sort of things everyone should at least be aware of. Even if they don't make use of it.

I'll keep an eye out for your progress pics :)

Cheers,
Arkay.

So how did it all go?

I don't know what usernames you guys are using on lumenlabs forums so I'd be interested to know how you went as I'm sure others on doom9 would be.

Give us the low down.

Cheers,
Arkay.
