Hi there!
I would like to know how to get a better subtitle quality.
I've made many DVDs with my own subtitles with Srt2Sup... I can't complain, but I would like to get a better quality... for instance, like the VobSub ones, they look very good.
Is there a possibility to put that quality into a DVD?

Try MaestroSBT (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Subtitles/MaestroSBT.zip). I suppose the main factors that make difference are font, color, and anti-aliasing.

Hmm... may be. But tell me, How do I create a DVD's sup file from MaestroSBT?

True, but U must have expensive S/W for using the results of MaestroSBT.
I dare say U may accomplish the very same results using Srt2sup and , for instance, ifoedit choosing the right fonts and settings.
Try for instance to make some examinations on the original vobs and ifo files. Subremap wil give U this possibility. Then use the very same fonts and settings from the original movie:D

Yeah! But I thnik at the end I am going to get the same quality than Srt2Sup (By the way, the developer of Srt2Sup, member of this forum, promessed an update or a new version of his program, in order to get better subtitles quality... nothing came from it).
So, I think it is no possible to get a real better quality than Srt2Sup, is it?

EDIT: I found it, here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73569) is what Srt2Sup said.

yes, I have seen subs based on son files and Spruce DVD Maestro from a friend of mine where the quality was superior to Srt2Sup.
On the other hand, my PC ain't powerfull enough to work with with Maestro (well maybe I could but I'm sure it will take me ages), I don't own the prog and never will.............
Srt2Sup gives good enough quality to my needs and it's free:D
I had a look into that thread, it was from 2004-4, give the man a chance...we are talking about free progs:p

Yes, you are definetly right, the subs of Srt2Sup are not bad, the thing I was doing in the last time, it was permanent subs on an avi with VobSub... and I tell you, that subs look very, very good to me... that's why I was wondering to have the same quality on a DVD.
Not possible at the moment.
