View Full Version : Including subtitles in movies

Hi there,

I want to make a backup of Kill Bill Volume 1. I have used DVD Shrink to remove all the extras and only to deal with the main movie itself. It works a treat because I am able to fit it all onto 1 disc without reencoding the film.
The problem I have is that as anyone who has seen the film knows, there is a lot of foreign dialogue, namely japanese. And the english subtitles accompanying the japanese dialogue are missing each time I rip the extras from the movie, even when I choose not to rip the subtitle streams from the movie.
What I would like to know is how do I rip all the extras from the movie, thus ensuring maximum quality, whilst also keeping the English subtitles.
Is there a single program that can do all of the above? Any help would be most appreciated on this.
Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.

Regards

DVDShrink should keep the subtitles. What you may need to do in reauthor mode is use right click on title->set default streams and select the translation stream (which is stream 3 on region 4 PAL DVD). You can also do this in IFOEdit by adding a pre-command.
