when you install my decoder pack it check if some older version of the pack are installed and then unistall it silently.
so if you just launch the install but cancel it, you won't have any version of the pack installed ....
if you install it without canceling, that the first time i hear this bug ....

it's true that codec pack are evil ,but my pack is a decoder pack (decoder only, no codecs) witch not influence the installed codec nor make conficts ^^

-Satsuki Decoder Pack version 1.0.4.6 :

------------------------------------------------------

+update ffdshow (08/08/04).
+correct a bug witch partialy install le decoder pack if an other version was already installed.
+detection of directX during install and error message if DX 7 or more is not installed.
+the speakers setting don't bug anymore and they remember the setting you use when you update.
+the silent unistall of older pack is now when the install start and not when the install initialise (the pack don't uninstall if you just launch the installer, you need to start the install itself).

-Satsuki Decoder Pack version 1.0.4.8 :

=====================================================
+Update FFDshow (28/08/04 version).
+ac3, dts, mp2, mp3, flac, et ogg are decoded by ffdshow audio (more decoding options)

ffdshow vfw will not be included because it make the DECODER pack bigger (aprox 1 mo) and it's no use for decoding.
if you want to encode with ffdshow, just install it after the decoder pack, or don't install the ffdshow of the decoder pack (it remember the filter you choose ^^)

[AC3Filter]

No more AC3Filter? How about having 5.1 output for RA audio? :( I want matrixmixer back!!! :'(

[FFDSHOW VFW]

I use it for decoding when FFDSHOW fails. Also, it's already included in your pack, we just need a shortcut to it ;)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configureVFW

[edit]

I disassembled ffdshow.ax to get the function name :o

715000 lines with 8992 pages :)

you just have to go into ffdshow audio codec config and select the uncompressed codec ^^.
plus now with ffdshow audio you can use the great winamp 2.x dsp plugin with all your video.

the vfw shortcut will be added in the next version. (but i'm not goin to add all extra encoding feature like wmv9, mpeg2, or h264, just add the shortcut)

Anyway, being polite is no longer cool?

Gimme a break Martin, will ya ? Did you ask Frank Klemm for permission to use his library for your filter ? 99,9% of the work on this decoder filter was done by him, you just wrapped a little DShow stuff around it, thats it.

BTW, about asking Frank for permission, of course you dont have to. Its released under the L-GPL, and this license strictly regulates how the code or binaries can be used and redistributed. Same applies for your simple little filter, so stop this kind of BSing around please, will ya ?

FFDShow audio is messing my sound. Why not just keeping AC3Filter? Is was working well :(

witch sound ? give my an exemple, i've tested a lot of soud (without the "uncompressed" option activated) and it's stable as rock.
plus with ac3filter some people have no center chanel on ac3 and dts on their dvd, with ffdshow audio the center chanel is ok.
if the bug is not the "uncompressed" option, send a sample on my ftp (satukiyatoshi.no-ip.com, anonymous session).
if the bug is the "uncompressed" option, it's not realy bad, because it's not activated by default and so it's not mess up the decoding (ac3 filter mess up the center chanel on some configuration).

Get Galaxy Angel 01.avi on my FTP, and enable process raw. It produces noise, only noise.

as i said, process raw is not activated by default and si not an essencial feature, as ac3filter bug on some config with center chanel, and as ffdshowaudio don't bug (except some raw process), i'll choose to keep ffdshowaudio (or i'll wait essencial feature bug to change it, but ac3 filter bug so it won't be in my pack while it bug)
