Subtitle stream in Avi and in Matroska

Hi everybody!
I've got a subtitle stream in .srt format. It's perfectly synchronized with an .avi video. Well, if I change container from Avi to Matroska, the same .srt subtitles are no more synchronized with the mkv file! How it's possible?

PS. Of course I do not change the framerate and I do a direct stream copy while I change from .avi to .mkv. I used VirtualDubMod v. 1.5.10.1.

I have just tried...the problem persist also if I use avi-mux gui.

So it is not a bug in one of the muxers.
