sub2sup italics will it work?

hi
before i attempt to do this
I am thinking of setting the global font as italic
rendering my subs as bitmaps
then change the font again to normal and render a 2nd set of bitmaps
mixing my 2 sets of bitmaps together and processing them to 1 new supfile.
will this work?
is there an alternative
should I even bother being this picky

ok heres the procedure for srt2sub to create italic text where required it's a bit of work but for perfectionists it maybe worth it
ok starting with subrip
rip your titles and save an ssa version and a sub version
tweak your timings on the subfile in subtitle workshop so
they stay on screen for the right time.
save as srt
next load the srt file into srt2sup
and reload the ssa file into subtitle workshop
now go through the list of subs in subtitle workshop and
select the italic subs in srt2sup (ie sub1 is italic select sub1 in srt2sub skip all non italic subs

in global fonts select an italic version of the font you want to use
and then create a directory for your italic subs then choose save all as bitmaps.

next invert the selection using inv change the global font to a normal version and save all bitmaps again into a second directory
(maybe its safe to use just one)

now go to your italic directory and select all files (bmp)except the srt file and copy and paste into your plain directory

now go back to srt2sup and load srt as bitmaps
next select all files and save the sup file
now you have a sup file with italic text where required.

repeat for other languages as necessary
if you really want to be clever you could substitute simple graphics
for subtitles how much time have you got ;)

Hi,

There is an easier way to have italic subtitles if you want the whole of a single subtitle to be italic.

1) Setup Srt2Sup as how you want it (colours, position etc)
2) Select a subtitle you want italic and goto [Tools][Copy from Global]
3) Now uncheck the [Use Global]
4) On the [Appearance] tab click on [Select subtitle font]...
5) Pick an new font or bold or italic etc.
6) Repeat this for each subtitle you want to change.

This means you do not need to create bitmaps as the different font is saved with the S2S file.

this projects done

thanks without this program it wouldnt be possible
and supremap is great far better than messing with ifoedit
