I have a movie with the corresponding .smi files. But the text that comes up is all gobbledegook i.e. weird.

Here's a sample,

<SAMI>

What are all these symbols? It's supposed to be in English. Is there something I need to do or has somebody cocked-up the subtitles?

Maybe the subtitles are meant to be used with another font encoding, and therefore they are not in english.

Then pray tell, what language is it then?

And can I draw your attention to this line,

.ENCC {Name:English; lang:en-US; SAMIType:CC;}

I know the encoding is English but I just said that maybe the person who made the subtitles forgot to change that line in the SAMI file.

What language it is? Hmmm, I've tried different encodings and for the way the characters look I'd say it's Thai. Though, I can't read a word of Thai but I more or less know how characters look (visually) :)
Maybe I am saying bullshit, though :rolleyes:
