Help with vobsub

Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie here so please bear with me, been searching your forum for a while now but didn't find any answer.
I read the guide on how to use vobsub but it's not clear for me. the guide says:
"Start a command prompt (start - run - command/cmd), change to the directory where you have vobsub.dll and type "rundll32 vobsub.dll,Configure""
I did install both vobsub and Dvobsub but id didn't understand start a command prompt. I got a choice between :
-direct vobsub configure
-vobsub configure
-vobsub cutter
-vobsub joiner
Which one do i choose?
Anyway, i tried to continue by choosing vobsub configure, but I didn't get presented with the first screen but i jumped right away to the 2nd screen. How do I get to the first one. I don't know where I have my IFO files, i only have idx and sub file. Do i have to make the IFO file???
Someone please help me! Any reply will be higly appreciated!

IIRC, with the oldest VobSub versions, we might use the command prompt. But, with VobSub 2.23 package, there are a lot of shortcut for these apps...So, don't worry.

It depends what to do...DirectVobSub is for the playback. VobSub Configure allows you to create an *.idx/*.sub file. VobSub Cutter...to cut these files and VobSub Joiner...to join it. ;)

The IFO file must be in the same directory the VOBs files.
So...if you just want to create an *.idx/*.sub file, rip once again the VOBs files and IFO from a ripper as DVDDecrypter...Then, load it in VobSub Configure as the first screen shows.
Anyway, if you have already create the idx and sub, rename these files as your movie and put them into the same directory.
