@Xadox

seamless branching is fun!

:D

nice avatar btw -

im using sceneaid to do a seamless branch and only had a couple of errors.. no real problems with subs at all, just had to turn the Letterbox flag on all of them(they were WL and only W was set on.. ). the seamless part actually went pretty smooth (although there were 2 vobids that didnt import audio stream x82 so i had kill x83 then import the 2 streams manually, then replace stream x83)

i guess i'm so use to doing this all by hand that those few issues i regaurd as no big deal.

I saw that someone else in this thread posted a similar thing but I don't think there was an answer to him. When messing around with American Wedding (seamless) I've finished the encoding and opened up SceneAid and when I browse to the Directory I get the following error:

Severity: Error
Number: 53
Description: File not found

and then this error:

When you demux by vobid in DIF4U, do you have to leave all the audio streams checked? That's the only thing I can think of that may cause this problem. Thanks

I always leave all english and remove foreign audio. In the case of AW, I can't remember whether it had foreign audio, but I know there were 4 or so English tracks (2 of them were commentary, which, if you're an American Pie/Wedding fan, you know are some of the BEST commentary to have ever been added to DVDs!).

there are 3 english tracks (1 for the movie, 2 for the commentary) and one french and spanish tracks. I actually did get it to work before, a couple days ago, but decided to re-try it using "frames diagnosis" in DIF4U. I did that, kept all english tracks and both of the english subtitle tracks and encoded...but this time when I opened up SceneAid I get that error. To my best recollection, I left the same audio tracks for the 1st time I encoded and had it work...the only thing I did differently was the frames diagnosis. So I dunno.

edit:

I should mention too that when I scroll the SceneAid Log Window, it says that a "dummy VOB needed for 33"...all the way up to 38. So that could be a problem too?

frames diagnosis adds frame info to the filename.. it is possible scenaid is not able to handle that(?)

I tried changing the file name from VTS__06_P01.I-BFF.4~3_1.M2V to VTS__06_P01.P.4~3_1.M2V

But still no luck with SceneAid :(

Did you strip out any substreams?

Angelus
18th February 2004, 04:31
I demuxed by VOBID in DIF4U so it automatically rips all the VTS's.

Huh? Maybe I don't understand what you're saying, but I asked if you removed any subtitle streams.

Oops, sorry I misread your post. The subs that I took out were the Spanish and French ones. I think I did the same a week ago and had it work, but now all of the sudden it won't work. Anyways I tried to turn off frames diagnosis in DIF4U and see if SceneAid would work but it didn't. The only other thing I can think of is that the time it worked I used DoCCE4U and now I've been using BatchCCEWS. I don't see why this would make a difference though...

I usually get some errors w/ SceneAid whenever I remove substreams. I wrote about my experiences w/ removing subs and SceneAid in this thread:

Well just finished encoding with DoCCE4U and it still didn't work. I'll try it using all the subs and see if that makes a difference, but I don't think it will make a difference.

edit:

just tried it with keeping all the subs and no difference...it still says that a file is missing. I'm lost!

edit 2:

just tried it with keeping all the audio tracks and no difference...  I think I'm gonna try to uninstall it, delete all the reg keys and then try again.

Is the problem that you're using spaces in your directory name? Spaces are a no-no. This is documented in the Knowledgebase. Search for "missing file".

Angelus
19th February 2004, 20:53
Oops...you were right. I didn't think that was a problem because I actually got it to work the first time using a directory with spaces...but once I changed them to underscores it worked. Sorry for making a big deal out of nothing and thanks Eyes Only!

Site is now back up ... sorry for the delay

Angelus: the problem your getting was a problem caused by the audio dummy code... I've resolved this and it shouldn't happen in the next build which should be out this weekend

joaoccc : how far into the import process before it closes out? What error do you get?

Sweet news. I'll test it on Get Over It when it's out. I just started doing Aliens (Quadrilogy Disc 3) with seamless branching so hopefully it will be out by the time I start compiling that.

PS. I'm demuxing Aliens by VOBid and it's taking FOREVER for VobSub to rip the subs. It's about halfway thru the VOBids and it's been running for 4 hours. Is this normal?

Edit:
I didn't feel like adding another post just to say this so I edited it in here.

Looks like I was a bit optimistic at saying it was halfway done. I was only counting the 66 VOBids in the main movie, there were an additional ~20 used solely for .15s dummy files to end other PGCs, these files added an additional 3-4 hours of subripping, basicly for nothing. It's a good thing I was asleep or I would have been PO'ed. I woke up this morning just in time to see it finish up after ripping subs for ~12 hours.

Oh, and thanks for the reply Trahald.

with the last public release - yes. the beta processes the subs differently through use of the a new feature in dvddecrypter
