I tried searching but couldn't find the answer I needed. In my example below, taken from IFOedit...

SubPicture 2: Français (2-bit rle ) (ID: 0x22,0x23,0x21)

Which ID is letterboxed? widescreen? and what is the third one for?

My guess is that 0x22 is used for letterboxed and 0x23 is for widescreen. Again, I don't know what 0x21 would be used for? I'm writing a guide and would like to explain the order of subtitle IDs.

I believe it’s depending on the field/stream set in the PGC_SPST_CTL in the PGC_GI when the Aspect_ratio specified in VTSI field VTS_V_ATR for VOBUs in a VTS title VOB is set for 16:9.
Settings for 16:9 are Wide, Letterbox and Pan-scan.
