After Installing Instantcopy 8 my Nero can't close a disk...

I can still burn pdi files with DVD Decryptor no problem...

Anyone else having this problem...?

Follow_Up

I uninstalled InstantCopy 8... removed all reference to it in Windows Registry and Nero is once again working perfectly.

I then reinstalled InstantCopy 7 and all is well...

I'll sit on IC 8 until someone smarter than me comes up with a solution or Pinnacle fixes the issue.

Problem occured with:
WinXP
Intel P4 2.23GHz
InstantCopy 8
Nero 5.5.10.50

Any reasons why I cant get Instant Drive to work? I mount it it tells me its mounted but when I click on the virtual drive there's nothing there, I have done a backup with the destination to the virtual drive and nothing then tried to mount it manually and still nothing, I have Alcohol 120 installed could this be it? any suggestions?

Nope, got RNM & IC8 on two systems and not a glitch.

Nero on the other hand I never use. :scared:

Thanks for letting me know this was a known issue...

I did as you suggested, though I cannot confirm 100% success because this time I DID NOT reinstall the Virtual Drive utility (where I suspect the conflict exists). Nor did I allow 'Pinnacle Check' to CORRECT my drivers on start up.

In truth I don't want a program as flakey as Pinnacle produces to create drives and such on my computer. I feel I just spent another $30 US to get a newer version of InstantCopy solely because IC 7 was NEVER completely finished. Software should work 100% before releasing new releases with new features.

Pinnacle has 2 BETA programs, one before the release comes out... and the rest of us who pay to BETA their products.

My Nero works... My InstantCopy 8 is running and I will have many samples in the days to come to speak to its reliability.

I think we all know that they will be history 2 days after a solid competitor hits the market.

Thanks again MACKEMX for the tip...

I just updated to IC V8.
Should I allow 'Pinnacle Check' to CORRECT my drivers on start up?
I haven't allowed it and everything seems to be cool, but on every restart it pops up.

I up-dated to IC8 yesterday and I also have Nero installed. Since I use Daemon tools I declined the install of virtual drive. I've had no problems so far. I've used IC8 and let it do the burn... I've also used Shrink, DVD2DVD, and D21 then burned with Nero... no problems here!
Oh and I DID let IC fix my drivers

I let it update my drivers too. No problems with Nero or anything else.

Has anyone tried to burn a PDI set with version 8 that had been created with version 7?

I am under the impression that burning pdi files with DVD Decryptor is probably the best way to go anyway.

In add/remove modify the IC install by unselecting the virtual drive component. Three coasters in a row with Nero 6 and virtual drive enabled. Fixed after the virtual drive (vd?) uninstall.

Pinnacle IC7-8 created pdi files have wrong structure!

Win XP:
When mounting an IC8 pdi file then Daemon Tools 3.4.1 outputs an Address Field error, and doesn't mount.
The developers of Daemon Tools know that problem and have informed Pinnacle month's ago!!! But they didn't fix it.

Pinnacle's Instant Drive doesn't work with XP/XPpro.

IC8: You cannot reduce the size of a big main menu manually. The slider has no influence on it.

There is a better solution: Elby CloneDVD 1.3.9.8. It's fast, generates ISO files and works properly.

by the looks of the demo you can't and the reduction is uniform across the DVD which will hit quality on the main movie hard :(

DVDShrink is still the king in this field I think :D

"Any Record Now Max conflicts ? Anyone?"

No conflicts, never had a coaster using RecordNow Max.

first let me state that in my opinion instant copy gives you the best video quality. I tried instant copy and shrink 3 beta 5 using Apocalypse now redux and lotr two towers and instant copy is better which can be seen easily.

BUT it has a huge problem. Pictures in some movies like lotr two towers and pianist actually occasionaly TWITCHES (stops for a fraction of a second and than moves on). I reencoded lotr II dozens of times. I tried all different settings. Still it twiches every time at the very same place. At the beginning where frodo and sam first catch golum. I tried dvdshrink and it does not twitch. But instant copy quality is better.

Please anybody out there who can solve this problem?????

What is known about why Instantcopy causes menus to freak? It will display the video for one menu while buttons for a different menu are active.

This seems to happen when there is a comprehensive series of menues such as in Sopranos 4th Season or David Gale
