Hi there,

I ripped "the pianist" on my HD, with robot4rip. so I have 9 files in that directory now :

VTS_01 - Stream Information.txt
VIDEO_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
VTS_01_6.VOB
VTS_01_7.VOB

The only thing I want to do is play back this dvd from my HD, with subtitles. I'm able to play the vob files, but in order to show subtitles I have to open the ifo file, and that's where I get stuck.
Windvd doesn't do anything when i tell it to open that ifo file.
I tried as well making a new drive, pointing to the directory of the ripped files, with subst z: , but this doesn't work either
I wonder if anyone of you guys know what i'm doing wrong

tnx in advance

I believe in Radlight external subtitle files can be loaded, maybe this would work for you

that seems to work, but I have 7 vob files and 1 subtitle file. Wich means the subtitle file isn't synchronous with the movie.
So i have to rescync 7 times, but what the hell I can see my movie.
The pianist is great by the way.

You should copy all files from DVD incl video_ts.ifo .

Then you can use some software DVD player with DVD Subber for displaying text based subs which you get from other source than that DVD.

Probably easier way is to playback it via Media Player Classic. But only from DVD directly.

There is couple thing to make it easier: it will not work with Micro DVD subs - works with Subrip ( srt ) subs.
MPC playbacks DVD well if Power DVD is installed, with Win DVD installed it displays garbage.
