I'm in the process of ripping a few series from DVD, and they are two episodes per DVD, in the same video-stream (ep1=chap1-5,ep2=chap6-10).

I have ripped the episodes separately, but with the second episode on each disc, the subs are off by ~30 minutes.

I really don't feel like manually re-doing every line of the subtitle in VobSub:Re-sync to compensate, and none of the sub re-sync programs I have found seem to like VobSub subs (SubAdjust says "Probably not a valid SUB).

Do I have to encode all the episodes on one disc as one .avi/.sub and THEN split the files to get this to work?

Go back to subresync and set ONE waypoint for the first sub as described in subresync.txt. You will see that the times for all the subs will be changed ("Preview" column).
Save & you are done.

yipee! that helps me too.

there should be better docs than subresync.txt... i still have no idea what the little red up and down arrows are.

I can't believe I didn't notice that... My problems are solved now.

What red arrows?

Those red arrows control which direction the times edits will NOT be altered. just right click past the green dot to see them. I use them to only change the time in certain sections ( when cutting out imbedded intros - ie. Star Trek ) when I cannot perform a cell rip.

I think these were added after version 2.18 or so.

See my other thread about my VobSub problem. ;-)
