OK, I have got the whole of LOTR: Fellowship on my hard drive, but I inadvertantly demuxed everything, so I'm left with:
LOTR.IFO
LOTR.M2V
LOTR.AC3
LOTR.SUB
There is no VOB file.
Now, normally, this is no problem, as it's easy to process each file. That is, all except the subtitle file.
What you'd normally do is load up VobSub and tell it to look at the IFO and VOB files and extract the SUB file and an IDX file for the index.
I've already extracted the SUB file out of the VOB (through demux when ripping), but the problem is that there is no VOB file any more:
When you tell VobSub to look at the IFO file to generate the IDX file, it obviously can't find any subtitle streams, so it can't generate the IDX file to begin with.
This entails that I can't get at the subtitles I've got (ie. no index file), therefore I can't pick them up with VobSub or TextSub to encode them into the final film.
The question is:
Anyone know of a util that can generate an IDX file from the IFO/SUB combination (without a VOB file) or how to re-mux the SUB file into a VOB that is readable by VobSub in combination with the IFO I've already got?
Thanks
Bob
