View Full Version : Using subtitles in ZoomPlayer with VSfilter

I can't get this to work. I downloaded VSfilter.dll and ran regsvr32.exe "path to filter\vsfilter.dll" which says it worked. According to the FAQ for ZoomPlayer I now just need to press alt-s when a video file is loaded to select subtitles, but that isn't working.

I tried a search of the forums but all the threads I found are for more complex issues once VSfilter is working.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

What type of file are you trying to play ? (avi, ogm, mkv ?)

Is the subtitle on a separate file or is it muxed inside the video ?

The video file is an avi with XviD video and AC3 audio. The sub file is a separate .sub. It works fine in BSplayer, but I prefer ZoomPlayer and would like to get subs workng with it.

[Edit] I think I get where you are going with this. The filter can only be used if the subs are part of the media file? If this is the case how can I get the separate file to be used?

Thanks for the reply.

It should be working...

If the subtitle has the same name as the video with .sub or .srt extension, directvobsub should be loaded and the subtitle should be shown...

In the filter properties in ZP, can you see directvobsub when you load the video ?

As expected, I did something stupid. I didn't see any mention of the sub file having the same name. I was looking for some way to pick the sub file to be used. I changed the name and it works perfectly.

Thanks for your help.
