SubRip confusion

Hi All,

Not sure how to explain this clearly but I'll try.
Converting VobSubs in German to a SubRip, think the bitmaps are not
all that clear which results that 3 characters "h", "n", and "r" are all recognized as two characters. The front bit and the end bit. Thus ends up in that one of these characters is taking over the other two.
No way to edit this out with SubRip as the identified character just shows up once. And you don't want to spent your days in notepad trying to correct it manually, maybe if I had a German spell checker.
Q. therefore is, does anyone has an idea how to tackle this problem?

search and replace :D

if you got "i-" for "r" , replace all "i-" with "r" in notepad, word whatever.
if you actually had put some unlucky combination for the "split" characters, lets say "rr" which probably occurs in other places too, open subrip, correct the character matrix in subrip with characterMatrix->open/edit. If you did not save the matrix, start over and when you see subrip promping you for only a half character, enter a character that will NOT occur anywhere else in the text (ie "ç" or "ô" for german subs), same for second half of character, giving you a unique string for the thing you want as single char. Then it will be easy to search-replace the "çô" with "r".

Thx for making more sense then everything else I heard sofar. Yes I guess it's the only way left to solve it. Pity though, in this day and age of technology you can't tell your OCR extractor; hey those two bitmaps are actually one char, namely r, or ask your bitmap extractor; any chance getting those pictures a bit more clear?
