what program shows svcd subs?

Hi there
i have heard around that there is actually no PC program that can display selectable subtitles in a svcd, is that true?? if not, which kind of selectable subs(svcd, cvd) can be shown and what program shows them? (i only own powerdvd xp 4.0) By the way, what kind of subtitles in svcd are standar home dvd players able to display?(the standard true philips svcd subs or cvd subs??)

1. There is no PC software player able do display selectable subtitles in a svcd.
2. That depends on the model of the player. So, in order to be sure that your subtitles will be displayed U should create both type (let's say 2 svcd style and 2 cvd style). There are max. 4 selectable subtitles in a svcd.

At one stage there was a project to prdouce a Xine plugin which would allow display of the various svcd subs (this was mentioned in this board quite a while ago). Sadly, I have not seen it over at sf or heard of the author anymore ...
