So I belive that is a very clear message: There is nothing real

I agree,what if like in Fantastic Planet(Great movie BTW)humans no longer exist....period.

Humans are just "pets" kept by a mainframe thats running on energy from the core(since humans are dead,and they must feel needed somehow).

You can twist the ending into a million different ways,but I think Neo is in the mainframe(where he wanted to go in the first place) ala coma.

And the,"he fights for us?"......is referring to the Program that guards the Oracle.

He is NEO's equal.

I also believe that the rain scene(http://leesmovi.bizland.com/the.matrix.revolutions.mpa (its video I swear))is the mainframe(no NEO in any other scenes) and Smith is the only thing between the Architect and himself in there(hence why Smith was trying to stop them in the hallway).

folks, we have a problem with the matrix inside the matrix (matroska?):

we are dealing with a hollywood movie here, and as such, there has to be a happy ending, right? well, what should that look like? they all figure they are trapped in this 2nd matrix; what now? if they broke out, there would be simply nothing, they they'd have to build it all up from scratch. not a very happy ending.

they could decide, to give up, since it is hopeless, and live back in the ist matrix and at lest enjoy driving cars and eating proper fast-food. hmm, also not to happy.

they could commit suicide all together. that would actually be the happiest ending, because that would at least mean a little energy-loss to the machines. ..but still not to hollywood-happy.

they could climb out of my pc! very happy ending, since they could join or forum and we'd have THE ONE coding our apps! ..but i would start wondering about MY actual reality, so this ending is also not the best option (at least for me).

How does the Matrix within a Matrix theory prevent a happy ending? If anything it opens the movie up to endless possible happy endings.

In the "first" Matrix, if you were too old or too weak and your mind got freed, than you would die. Destrying the Matrix would most likely result in the death of most of the human race, but assuming that the "first" Matrix really is just used for control, well obviously this would be exactly what the machines would want the humans to believe. The whole choice given to Neo in the architects room would be meaningless without it. So now there is new hope. Destroying the Matrix might not have any detrimental results at all.

Also, the Earth that we know in the Matrix is only the one that the machines have allowed us to know. As far as we know, this whole movie could be taking place in a labratory and Neo could be the only person hooked up to the Matrix. There might not be any rebuilding needed at all. Obviously this ending would be a total cop out, but you see what I mean. I seriously doubt the movie will end with a bunch of bald people standing up from their pods in a post apocolyptic wasteland. If this Matrix within a Matrix theory is going to work than the real world has to be different from what we have been shown so far.

At the end of the third movie we will see Neo waking up of a terrible nightmare and Trinity bringing him breakfast to bed. He will then say: "I had a very strange dream..." Trinity will say: "Drink that fast, or you won´t arrive on time to your interview with Mr.Rhineheart". Neo: "Goddam, I hate that bastard".
Then we switch to a scene where we see Neo gathering his stuff to get ready for leaving his home and we see his son leaving for school (yes, it is the spoon boy :D ).
The kid closes the front door and we see that it closes twice (a glitch). We see Neo´s face turning white.
Now someone opens the door. It is agent Smith, pointing a gun at him... The image fades and we see a "To Be Continued..." (hollywood never closes a very profitable movie ;) )

"Experts fear hacking scenes in Matrix Reloaded are too accurate": i might have seen it wrong, since it went by rather quick but trinity sits down and cuts off block after block using nmap, wich is a network-scanner! also very funny is, that the first thing she does is change the root-password. why in the world (sorry: matrix) would she change the root-password? either she knows it or not, LOL!

Danny Wow, I totally missed that (both the post here and the hack in the movie). I must say it's pretty cool that they did it "right". I hate movies like Swordfish and Hackers where they make hacking look like playing a game of breakout.

But as far as the article I linked to, it's really a non-issue. I mean really, who is going to learn how to hack from the movies. It's one thing to change the recipe for home-made napalm like they did in Fight Club, because some idiot could actually make it, but nobody is going to learn how to hack from a few seconds of a computer screen in a movie. If anything movies that portray it inaccurately are more at fault because they glamorize it and make it seem "cool". All the Matrix does is make killing security guards seem "cool".

It seems to me that the Matrix is used to control the humans and the real world is a bigger matrix used to control the anomaly in generating the "real world".

The whole rebellion is a method of control (it gives them something to do). All the people escaping to Zion spend their time busily trying to release everyone from the Matrix and are thus oblivious to the fact that they are still inside (i.e. they have purpose). Once some threshold of # of people released gets reached, the machines inside the "real world matrix" are sent down and kill everyone that had escaped the first matrix along with neo, thus resetting everything back to normal.

You could think of the real world matrix acting as a buffer for those that are able to escape. The humans escape into this second matrix, that buffers them from waking up into reality, and when this buffer starts to become full they wipe it clean and start over.

Another thing that I noticed in this movie is that the French guy (I forget his name) and his wife I think are from the real real world. My reasoning for this is because of several comments. One by the wife in the bathroom:

"When we first came here he was different, he was like you."

Then later when the French guy is talking to his wife they say:

"It's a game, this is only a game."
"So is this."

It seems to me that the real real world probably has people that are connected to the matrix [i]by choice[/]. If the real real world is also controlled by machines, then perhaps in that world there are a select few humans that are kept around by the machines for the whatever reason, and being able to connect into the matrix and do what you want (i.e. given money/power/etc inside the matrix) is a + factor.

Also, I'd have to say that although many movies involving virtual worlds, this one I think is cooler because of the fact that it makes sense to have a matrix-with-a-matrix without going beyond 2 of them (the buffer example). If the third movie reveals that there could be a neverending matrix after matrix (which is what most of the virtual world movies ala ExistenZ do) then the whole thing would just be stupid. But I'm pretty confident that it will be that there are just 2 matrixes.
