It's ok to install 5.03Pro ( no ads) on a 5.02Pro registered, sure i do it.

Disable Profiles! This will allow you to see the original modes, (and the new modes as well) in the variable bitrate mode selection drop down menu.

Now, back to 4 pass testing...

I'm disappointed with the muti-pass encoding. It only gets better file-size targets, not better quality (in my eyes).

note that the exe offered at divxcom site for the upgrade is the bundle, that with ads.

oh, and where did you get it?, the only way to have it is paying.

Divxcom site offers the bundled exe to download for upgrades,
another question is if the ad version install without gain when a precedent registered installation is detected

DivXPro503Bundle.exe (https://secure.divx.com/downloads/DivXPro503Bundle.exe) = Pro version with NO spyware but requires valid serial number.

Btw, so at divx.com site you can download the pro without gain only after credit card info, but....
if you go in the upgrade page, the same exe is there,
this is not logical, so i supposed you had the gain to dl for upgrade.

Download that file, but keep in mind you will need a valid serial number to make it work.
