Subtitle extraction in vobedit does not work correctly !

This problem occurs when I follow the guide at doom9.org (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm).

When I rip the subtitles according to the guide with VobEdit, there are a lot of "Data will arrive too late"-errors when I author the dvd in IfoEdit. If I add more than one Subtitle, IfoEdit says "Too many frame drops" and aborts the authoring.

I can reproduce this error when using VobEdit 0.6 to extract subtitles and IfoEdit 0.95 and 0.96Beta1 to author.

What other software i could use to make the .SUP files that ifoedit need to rip the subtitles? or what is the problem ?

subrip can produce .sup files but to be honest even though ifoedit is a fantastic program i always had the same problem as you so i changed to maestro to author and i have never had a problem with subtitles yet.

I followed the guide from doom9 but have a problem now.
The sup file is 0kb in size and when I click O.K. the program doesn't extract the subs from the VOBs.

Have I done something wrong? Anyone can help me, please?:scared:

This is how i solve this problem :
1.- use smartripper in the same way as the doom9 guide
2.- instead of vobedit to extract your subtitle use VobSub also be sure to use v2.18 DON´T USE THE NEW VERSION !, it doesn´t work for me.
3.- open the ifo file that smartripper create in Vobsub v2.18
4.- select in the right windows the chapters and languages that you want
5.- press the central bar " . . . . .cross fingers"
6.- open Sub2Sub
7.- open the .idx file that Vobsub create to make the .sub file to use in the next step of doom9 guide (ifoedit)
