I use subrip 1.14. There is a way you can adjust the sync after all the bitmaps are done. I'm not very fluent on how to accurately do it, but I have synced subs with some trial and error. How are you authoring?

I am using MasteroSBT 2.9 version
I use smartripper..pick the main movie go to the stream process and only pick video ac3 and subtitles english and the rest i don't pick it makes the m2v for video, ac3 for audio, and for subtitles, I use subrip 1.14 (i use files on dvd decryptor to create the main ifo and main movie)open the ifo and all the vob pops up then click bmp and the next check box next to it TC+RES and make sure the time is all zeros and leave the "Enable the box isf time restarts at 0 from middle of dvd. i click ok then pops up i make my preference 740x480 and what color i want no prob with making the son and bitmaps... after everything is done with subtitle and using rempeg2 88 percent on the m2v video. Then i use chapterX to extract the chapters from those vob files by opening again the main ifo i ripped out from dvd decryptor and make it 29.970 fps. then rename my movie to a chp file. Then i use Mastero to import media asset m2v then import the ac3 then chapter then i add the subtitles...i complie the movie audio and video is synch no problem i have no problem with the video and audio but the subtitles....i even did the pulldown and made one with the p frame and make another m2v for the output-drop m2v. you know the one that you insert first the m2v then chapter then the ac3 then before you insert the subtitles you delete the m2v then put the output-drop then add the subtitles then it shouldnt have any problems synching..still have a problem... the problems starts to happen at when neo is lying on the hospital bed and saying "Am I dead?" and that's when it happens then in gets worst with about 2 to 3 sec the captions pops to early before the person speaks. HELLLLP!!!!

If it's gradually getting out of sync, then you can adjust the time stamps of your subtitles accordingly in subrip. You will have to play around with it. If it all of a sudden starts off sync, I don't know other than manually adjusting each frame in Maestro.

Try the latest vobsub, matrix r1 was one of the dvds I tested it on. Or just tell me which program chain you need and I'll upload it to my homepage.

edit: quickly ripped pgc1... :)

Go to the download section and search for a tool to convert srt into maestro files. (MaestroSBT)

It isn't stored in a normal subpicture stream, and so it doesn't have any stream id either.

edit:
This is the first chance to test the new vobsub ripper :P

ok thanks i found the subtitle workshop and going through the movie and seeing when the open caption pops up and then pausing to match the time of the caption on the workshop program and setting the delay to 1 or 2 sec + or - depending where the out of synch is happening! man what A BIT$H but it's worth it I can't find any other way around it. I haven't yet imported it to MasteroSBT yet as it's going to be another 4 and a half hours till i get my movie i just need that! then test the caption on it... hope it works... i don't know if the matrix messes up the times if you try to rip the subs or captions out of that movie... I also wonder why gordian knot can make such good captions or subtitles when the dang authoring program cant even synch the subtitles right...my opinion anyways no offense
