Subtitle editing with video view

Is there any subtitle software where i can play a movie, pause it, type a text, choose the outpoint, do that again a thousand times and save it as SSA format (or other is ok)?

I use great little program called SubCreator 1.2 (http://www.man.poznan.pl/~radeks/index.html#/~radeks/english/subcreator.html). You type your subtitles while watching the movie (like in Notepad, with time stamps generated by the program). You save them in the .txt file. When you're done, you can export to different formats.

The beauty of thes program is, that you can switch to different languages and use different characters (like in German, Polish etc.)

Than you can use MaestroSBT to generate bitmaps. Workes great for me! :)
