View Full Version : fad not working in DVobSub

I've just edited some subtitles from a DVD and ran into problems with the \fad(t1,t2) command. DirectVobSub just seems to ignore it and display the subtitle without a fade in or out. But Textsub is working... at least it seems to. When loading the video in VDubMod and applying the subs with the TextSub filter, the fade in and out is there.
I've the full VobSub 2.23 package installed.

Can someone confirm my problem? Or is it just me?

Taken from DVobSub help file:
Q: The subtitle colors are only black & white and have strange edges.
A: The edge gets on an odd pixel value, and divides the color component with the background. If it were also colored, it would look more silly. If anybody understands this and have a solution, then don't hesitate to drop me a mail. (In RGB mode, the colors are the same like with the plugin.)
v1.05+ update:
- You can turn off setting the color component.
v1.28+ update:
- No transparencies anymore, looks nicer without it.
v2.00+ update:
- Transparent subs are back, but not fading.

Any command making the subtitles animated somehow requires the "pre-buffer" option to be turned off.
