SubTool error: SUB to SRT

I tried using SubTool but get an error opening a SUB file (4.7MB size). Are there other programs better suited with converting SUB to SRT? Thanks for any help.

Use Subresync from the VobSub (http://vobsub.edensrising.com/vobsub.php) package or SubRip(available from the doom9.org download page).
