A somewhat unusual question, I believe:

I have a VHS tape. It is entirely in German (a historic movie). I cannot even find the movie subtitle anywhere.

I would like to digitize the tape, do the translation, add the subtitles (as true subtitles, not overlaid) and output as DVD.

I digitize via DV. I can then import into Ulead or Premiere. I have the AVI video server plug-ins.

How do I best add my subtitles?

Is there a guide I overlooked?

There's no guide but there's a piece of software that makes the process really easy: http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Subtitles/SubCreator1.2.0.117.zip
Once you have your AVI you can load it into this software and write subs as you preview the movie.

I was wishing to subtittle one of my movie, so immediately i start searching forum.
RULE OF THUMB "search before u ask" :p

And it works, i found somehting closer to my need, so here i am posting my problem.

I heared there is program/software who can do auto subs.I mean there is no need to type all the subs. Is it real or fake news?

And other thing, is there any other software or proggy out for subttling a movie( may ve easy one) cause this would be mine first try.
