Subtitles are underlined and can't see chapters

Working with Back to The Future I. Ripped my subtitles using subrip. Used CCE to get main VOB files down to size. Used Maestro to reauthor. Film plays fine except no chapters appear under the Scene Selection Menu. The menu still works OK, the cursor appears etc and I can select chapters but I can't actually see them (does that make sense?). The other thing is many of the subtitles have a white line running underneath them right across screen. Any ideas?

About the white line: try in SubRip - BMP Adjustment window to change the value of dividability of width/height to higher even value or/and in the "Position" sheet to check Even values only.

If nothing helps, try to set the size of subpicture to vob video size.
