Subtitle problem with Maestro or Subrip

I have already done 10 movies, but now I have a problem with one movie.
I am trying to rip an already once ripped movie (so I am making a copy of a copy). I'm ripping with SubRip and muxing it al together with Maestro. The problem is that in the end result when a subtitle is displayed, the movie picture is gone and the background is all red, and the subtitles themself are transparent, so you can see a bit of the movie though them.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

u most likely have set the subs atrributes wrong. I would however suggest to use dvddecrypter, make an iso image file and burn it back with the same programm. This way u will skip all the trouble.

I would do that, if the original copy wasn't copied wrong. That one is set 4:3 aspect while the movie is actually 16:9. So I'm trying to fix that now
Or do you know an easier way?

after you import the subtitles that were ripped with subrip, you have to import the palette file too (.spf file). double clicker any subtitle, click edit palette, load, select the .spf file (should be in same dir as the .son file).

Did you set/correct the appropriate mask colors in SubRip to subcolor/bcgrnd/outline1/2? Try it in BMP adjustment window (change the indexes on the left in Colors sheet).

And an easier way: The question is, if the wrong AR is set in IFO or in VOB. In 1st case you can repair IFO with IfoEdit, in second case there is some mpeg-2 haeder patcher (doom9 downloads).

TNX! The IfoEdit method worked! I know IfoEdit can do a lot, and I'm finding out more and more each day.
So there is no need anymore for a solution for my actual problem, but it still would be nice...
