Hi!

Say, I'm encoding the extended edition of The Fellowship Of The Ring onto two CDs (while the superfancy DVD case with those cool bookmarks look great on my desk, I don't like DVDs per se, and prefere DivX).

Works great. Except - in the DVD, there are subtitles for those few scenes where Elvish is spoken. Looking about, I found 5 subtitle streams on the DVD (count 'em :).
However, none of them were the right ones - either comments, english for deaf, or whatever.

So... using DivX 5.02 with Gordian Knot, how would I go about inserting these (not unimportant) subtitles? I probable sound like an idiot to the pros, but I couldn't find any info on this...

advTHANKSance!

Ciao,
Klaus

Rip all subtitle streams and open the resulting file in subresync. In one stream you should find subtitles which are marked as "forced". Mark them all and save to a new vobsub file which you can use in GKnot.

Hi!

Hey, thanks! Got myself that program, but - um, how do I 'rip all subtitle streams'? I used SmartRipper with stream support, grabbing everything except the additional sound tracks (meaning, I should have all subtitles on disk).

Thanks for your help! :)

Ciao,
Klaus

Tri have meant: 'rip all subtitle streams' using VobSub (there is a sheet for it in GKnot) to an idx/sub file, to open it in SubResync.
