Combining multiple subtitle files...

I recently encoded a film which was spaced over 2 DVDs, but which I encoded as a singular avi. Thus, my problem is that I have two subtitle files (2 idx and 2 sub; i don't know how to rip any other way) and I need to combine them in such a way that they play as one. Does anyone know a good way of doing this?

Also, on a related note, My DVD was NTSC and I converted the video and audio to PAL. So, I am going to have to also speed up the subtitles to fit the new video file. Any ideas on doing this, with either srt or sub & idx format would be greatly apreciated. Thanks...

well i belive you can join the two idx/sub files by running the Joiner part of Vobsub if you installed the Vobsub packaage there should be a link in your startmenu for it if not then run this command

rundll32.exe vobsub.dll,Joiner i belive is the command line for it. Also i am not sure about your converting to PAL if the length is the same then you won't have to change the subtitles if its different then you just need to open the subs in SubResync and adjust a few time points and it will interpolate the times to adjust for the change. read the Docs that come with vobsub for more information.

Ok i'm trying to use vob sub joiner
i have my 2 .sub files and the time where input file 2 starts...i enter this all in the joiner and hit go but i get an error msg that says error opening (then it has my first sub file) whats going on?? the subs work alone but vob sub joiner has a problem opening them...any help would be appreciated :(

are they idx/sub files or just the test based sub files? because the joiner can only work with vobsub idx/sub files..
