HTML tags in Subrip subtitles with DirectVobSub

Hello.

When i use directVobSub with a SubRip subtitle that have html tags (outside the movie), the tags doesn't work:

Subtitle '7' is shown in screen like:

<i>Man: [British accent]</i>
<i>Hello, Quinn. </i>

instead of:

Man: [British accent]
Hello, Quinn.

But when i make an ogm file with the subtitle inside and i use DirectVobSub to show them (not Tobias filters) they looks ok.

What is wrong? :confused:

@gabest: Does VobSub support html tags in subrip subtitles? I thought it does.

AFAIK, vobsub supports HTML tags. However, it might have a bug on external subs with them. I'll let Gabest answer that. However, if you don't want muxed subs, I would suggest ssa as the format you should use. SRT is limited on what you can do to it. SSA is a much more flexible format, and I know formatting will show up correctly.
