vobsum pixelate movies

when vobsub get loaded, entire moviepicture get pixelated(like old sierra games almost ) Subs also are like this. if i unistall vobsub, movie gets much sharper/cleaner. Also .srt sub looks very nice(loaded trough ffdshow). vobsub subs do not. is it suppose to be like this, and can i load .idx/.sub without vobsub installed?

I've seen the same problem on my Win2k machine as well. I've tried VobSub with Core Media Player, Zoom Player and WiMP but all display very nasty video quality. Does this somehow have something to do with the overlay?

BTW- I've tried no less than 4 different version of VobSub inluding the latest 2.19

I also experience this sometimes. But after a few seconds the picture turns black for half a second and after comming back its perfectly smooth.
