VirtualDubMod is an old and abandoned fork of VirtualDub. The project has been dead for years. Why not use an up-to-date VirtualDub?

Thanks. Downloaded VirtualDub-1.9.11 and it does have blend and opens my VOB file. I am using frameserving with VirtualDub filters and re-encodeing through DVD Rebuilder.

On further use, VirtualDub-1.9.11 is freezing up during frameserving. Switched back to VirtualDubMod, which does work, although it lacks the blend option for video filters.

Is there some way to generate a debug report when it freezes?

Try using VirtualDub v1.10.1...

Tried this, but it doesn't appear to open VOB (mpeg) files.

(I'm frameserving into HCEnc within DVD Rebuilder. This allows me to filter VOB's without conversion or reauthoring a DVD. Works ok with VirtualDubMod, just can't blend.)

Thanks.

Tried that, but the MSU Color Enhancement filter causes error. I'll keep playing with versions until I find something that works.

Even though VirtualDubMod is very old but many of us still use it because it has some great features which are still not available in the official virtualdub.

The main problem with this version of VirtualDubMod is that it dose not support the newer file formats like mp4, flv etc if someone could implement the file input plugin support of the official virtualdub in this version of VirtualDubMod, VirtualDubMod will be able to open the newer file formats and VirtualDubMod will again come to life.

Why would you want to backport features into some VirtualDub-fork that is based on an ancient VirtualDub version (from about 10 years ago) and thus is hopelessly outdated now, that has been abandoned many years ago and whose extra features (as compared to "official" VirtualDub) are mostly obsolete nowadays?

It's the support for input plug-in's in current VirtualDub which makes most of the "extra features" in VirtualDubMod obsolete. Not to mention that the MKV support in VirtualDubMod was so much outdated/incomplete that even the Matroska web-site warns you about it...

If at all, it would make sense to think about porting "missing" features (if any) form VirtualDubMod into up-to-date VirtualDub ;)

It Seems u have not visited the virtualdub forum there are so many requests for implementing features of VirtualDubMod in official VirtualDub but none is accepted so i thought if current VirtualDub will not implement those features then why not port the most impotent feature of VirtualDub into VirtualDubMod and bring it to life again.

As far as porting "missing" features form VirtualDubMod into up-to-date VirtualDub is concerned mainly these features VirtualDubMod needed to be ported in virtualdub -

1. Saving avi files with duel audio the official vidrtualdub dose not support (Note - i know Avimuxgui can do this but the Duelaudio files created by Avimuxgui dosenot play on standard player & Duelaudio files created by VirtualDubMod play on standard player i have tested & VirtualDubMod is easier then Avimuxgui).

2. Official Virtualdub dosenot remember the last used setting whereas VirtualDubMod can remember the last used setting that makes it more easy to use.

3.Saving files in mkv format.

Can You port these "missing" features form VirtualDubMod into up-to-date VirtualDub, because official developer is not responding.
